As a sponsor of the SBIR Road Tour Boston, held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Jameson & Co. had the opportunity to meet so many great individuals looking to either continue their SBIR funding or get it started. ed had the privilege to sit on two panels with fellow professionals, some of whom included Chris O’Gwin of the DoE and Jennifer Shieh, Small Business Coordinator and Program Director at NHLBI.

The pre-conference event was also a huge success which focused on fostering and encouraging the participation of women entrepreneurs, technologists, scientists, and principal investigators as SBIR/STTR applicants and awardees: a key goal of the SBIR/STTR program. Jameson’s Caroline Crosby attended and was able to speak with many strong, intelligent women in the SBIR Community and hear from current Jameson clients on several panels at the event, including ML Mackey of Beacon Interactive.

The SBIR Road Tour is a national outreach effort to convey the non-dilutive technology funding opportunity provided through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. The SBIR/STTR programs annually provide $2.5 billion in funding to small advanced technology firms to spur new technological discoveries and facilitate the commercialization of innovations. Together, they represent America’s Largest Seed Fund.*

I’ve been in practice for over 40 years helping our small business clients procure, manage, and survive audits on more than $6 billion in federal government contract and grant funding. We’ve been featured presenters and panel moderators at Tech Connect’s National SBIR/STTR conferences since 2010, and I’ve presented at the DOD’s Mentor Protégé Summit and present regularly for several state and local organizations.
