Ed Jameson, CPA

Ed Jameson, Partner & CEO

Ed is a second-generation CEO of Jameson & Company, LLC, which was founded by his father Gordon in 1977. Ed joined our firm in 1988, having previously served as a senior consultant in the small business and tax departments at Price Waterhouse, Boston.

Ed has helped clients secure billions of dollars in government grants and contracts. He has extensive experience in the indirect rate recovery process and has settled hundreds of incurred cost submissions. In addition to overseeing all client relationships, Ed consults on cost recovery, strategic and tactical management issues, and contract and grant cost procurement.

A longtime member of Rotary International, Ed served as the president of the Burlington Rotary Club and was given the Paul Harris Fellow Award for service above self. Ed leads a group of church volunteers each month to prepare dinner and serve approximately 300 men at the Pine Street Inn, a Boston homeless shelter. Ed has been married for 24 years and has two children. He graduated cum laude from Bentley College in 1985 with a degree in Accountancy.


Brian LaCroix CPA, Audit Partner

Brian oversees and manages our clients’ audits. His depth of understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) A-133 audit regulations and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) requirements gives Brian the unique ability to work on either side of the audit process for our clients.

Brian also manages our firm’s rigorous quality control program, a peer-reviewed process that ensures the highest degree of competency in systems and service. Brian is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and has negotiated hundreds of indirect rates. In addition to assisting clients through the government audit process, Brian is also involved with his clients’ day-to-day strategic management decisions.

Prior to joining Jameson & Company in 2001, Brian worked as a CPA for several small public accounting firms and as a corporate in-house auditor. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1993 with a degree in Accounting. Brian is married and the father of three children.


Tom Pistone, Business Development Manager

Tom Pistone, Business Development Manager

As Jameson & Company’s Business Development Manager, Tom oversees and coordinates all sales & marketing efforts at the firm. Since joining us in 2009, Tom has worked closely with our Partners to implement strategies to raise awareness of the firm’s capabilities to the National NIH grantee & DCAA contractor markets.

A 2004 graduate of Bridgewater State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Tom’s primary responsibility is to act as the initial contact of small businesses in need of our firm’s specialized services, leaving the Partner’s to focus on solving client issues.

 

 


Bryan Cohen CPA, Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining Jameson & Company in 2010, Bryan worked as a CPA for several regional and national accounting firms. Bryan has over 15 years of public accounting experience primarily in the areas of financial statement audits, financial reporting and corporate taxation.

At Jameson & Company, Bryan has experience with preparing incurred cost submissions, and has performed several OMB A-133 audits. He also has experience in corporate tax planning and preparing multi-state corporate tax returns.

Bryan graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Accounting, and earned an MBA from the Boston University Graduate School of Management in 2000. Bryan is married and the father of three children.


David Labbe, MSA, Senior Accountant

David Labbe graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Maine in 2007. He was a financial administrator for U.S. Bank, Boston for approximately a year.

At Jameson & Company, Dave has experience preparing incurred cost submissions and has represented clients during DCAA and DFAS audits. He is proficient in the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements of his clients who receive funding from DoD, NIH, NSF, DOT, DOE and NASA.

Dave also has experience planning and preparing multi-state corporate tax returns, financial statement reviews and audits, and has performed numerous OMB A-133 audits.

 


Elizabeth A. Averett, CPA

Prior to joining Jameson & Company, LLC in 2011, Elizabeth worked as a CPA for several local public accounting firms.

Elizabeth has over 10 years public accounting experience in the areas of commercial and not-for-profit financial statement audit and review, financial reporting and individual, corporate and partnership taxation including preparation of multi-state corporate tax returns. She also has experience in federal, state and local government compliance auditing including HUD, OMB A-133 and incurred cost audits.

Elizabeth graduated from Worcester State University with a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Fitchburg State University.


Caroline Crosby, CPA

Caroline’s focus at Jameson and Company is primarily in the corporate and individual tax area. She has over 25 years experience working with regional and national accounting firms in tax, accounting and attest services. Her tax experience includes work with small privately held C and S Corporations, not-for profits and high net worth individuals. Caroline has worked with small business clients to design, implement, automate and improve the accounting function, as well as provide year end analysis to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting. She has performed audits, reviews and compilations of small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, private foundations and governmental units through drafting of the financial statements.

Caroline graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in accounting and economics from Boston College. She earned her Masters Degree in taxation from Bentley University also graduating magna cum laude.

In her spare time Caroline serves as volunteer Treasurer for HGRM, a not-for-profit located in Acton, MA whose mission is to provide household goods, free of charge, to people in need. Caroline has three grown children who are enjoying careers in the arts, finance and environmental science.


Cindy Higgins

Cindy Higgins, Government Contracts & Grant Administrations Specialist

Cindy oversees the day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative functions for the firm’s outsource clients. She is a QuickBooks expert with over 12 years of experience, and ensures that our clients’ government invoices are properly prepared and submitted to avoid payment delays.

Cindy is proficient in all forms of electronic invoice submission including Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) for Department of Defense contracts, Vendor Invoice Payment Electronic Reporting System (VIPERS) and ASAP software for DOE contracts, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Payment Management System and G5 for Department of Education awards.

Cindy joined Jameson & Company in 2001. She graduated in 1984 with a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.


Barry Spydell, MSA, Senior Accountant

Barry Spydell graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maine where he earned his Master’s degree in accounting in 2007. Barry worked with Ernst & Young, Boston on the audit staff in the assurance and advisory business sector for two years before joining Jameson & Company in the spring of 2009.

At Jameson & Company, Barry has performed numerous OMB A-133 audits, and also has experience preparing incurred cost submissions, and corporate tax returns. He is proficient in the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements of his clients who receive funding from DoD and NIH.

 

 


Steven Mai, MSA, Senior Accountant

Steven Mai is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in Accounting. Prior to joining Jameson & Company in 2009, Steven worked at a large regional accounting firm as an audit associate. Steven has experience assisting in the preparation of incurred cost submissions, corporate tax returns, and working with clients on monthly and quarterly closing issues.

 

 

 

 

 


Nancy Walton, Bookkeeper

Nancy Walton, Bookkeeper

 

Nancy is responsible for a wide variety of bookkeeping duties for many of our outsourced clients. She is proficient in QuickBooks and handles day to day accounts receivables, accounts payable and payroll duties as well as month end closings and government billings.

Nancy joined Jameson & Company in 2005 and graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She also brings many years of experience operating her own bookkeeping service for many local small businesses.

 


Petra Conboy, Bookkeeper

Petra works with many of our outsource clients with their day to day bookkeeping and accounting and administrative needs including payroll, accounts payable, month end closings and government billings.

Prior to joining Jameson & Company, Petra worked for several years with small businesses clients at a large regional public accounting firm.

Petra has an Associates degree in Accounting and is proficient in QuickBooks.
