Central Contractor Registration switching to System for Award Management
The CCR or “Central Contractor Registration” was a site that a contractor was required to register with in order to be awarded contracts/grants and get paid . Recently, the government has shut down the CCR and opened a new site called SAM.Gov or “System for Award Management” site, which serves the same purpose – a contractor/grantee needs to register on the site in order to get paid. Uncle SAM has decided to consolidate from several different agency registration sites to one central site.

The www.ccr.gov Site should bring the contractor directly to the sam.gov website instead – however it’s currently down for maintenance…..
Contractors/Grantees should beware that there is a site called “US Federal Contractor Registration” that looks like CCR but is not – it has no affiliation with any government agency and there are complaints that have been registered with the BBB – see below:
